An Update from "New Perspectives on Faith"
For Progressive Christians in the New Millennium - www.newperspectivesgoshen.org

January, 2012

New Perspectives Friends and Colleagues,

As we move into a new year, we want to share with you what is ahead for New Perspectives in both programming and finances. We continue to be very encouraged by the strong support seen in your regular attendance at New Perspectives meetings; by your affirmations for the topics covered; and by your appreciation for the quality of speakers who have shared with us. We believe the New Perspectives vision remains valid and that it helps all of us explore and talk together about our own faith.

New Perspectives is grateful to College Mennonite Church for its continued support by providing meeting space, lights, and heat for our meetings. Our guest speakers are impressed with the excellent and versatile facilities available for our programs. Without exception they admire what we are doing and appreciate the invitation to meet with us. If you know of other persons who you feel should be invited, please let us know.

New Perspectives provides two types of programming. We typically sponsor Sunday evening 90 minute lecture-discussion meetings. At least once a year we provide a full day (Saturday) seminar, or a Friday evening-Saturday seminar. These seminar meetings are largely financed by a registration fee, and generally draw a broader audience. For the Sunday evening meetings the typical honorarium is $150 with $25 to $100 for travel depending on distance. Your support has helped us meet these expenses while maintaining a modest balance in our account at College Mennonite Church.

The financial support we have received in the past year is very affirming, and we are grateful for all those who give "above and beyond" to assure that New Perspectives on Faith continues. Checks should be made out to College Mennonite Church with New Perspectives on the memo line. All contributions are tax deductible. Your financial support and your physical presence at the meetings are very encouraging. Thank you.

What is ahead for these next months?
